Artistry & Purpose

My teaching philosophy is to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for students to recognize and express how their unique being contributes to themselves and their community.

I currently teach ballet to students at the non-profit STEPS PDX, as well as ARTS FOR LEARNING NORTHWEST, at Portland Public Schools, and through OREGON BALLET THEATRE. I also serve as a choreographer and assistant director with PASSINART: A Theatre Company, Portland’s longest-running African-American theater company that celebrates the invaluable contributions, history, and culture of African Americans in the arts.

As far as training goes, I am a former member of the American Contemporary Ballet Company and trained with Elizabeth Abts. I studied and performed African dance with Obo Addy. For over a decade, I taught, directed, and choreographed musical theater at Park Academy. I also hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Directing.
